Create your app in App Store Connect
Updated October 21, 2026
Apple doesn't let anyone else make a new app's page in App Store Connect, so the account owner does it once, by hand. It's a 2-minute form. StoreReady shows you every value to paste, each with a Copy button.
Before you start: connect App Store Connect to StoreReady. That's when we add your app's Bundle ID to your Apple account, so it's ready in the form.
1. Open App Store Connect
- Open App Store Connect → Apps and sign in with the Apple ID of your developer account.
- A banner at the top asking you to accept an agreement? Accept it first. Apple doesn't let you add apps until you do.
2. Start a new app
Press the blue + next to Apps at the top, then New App.
3. Fill in the form
- Platforms. Tick iOS only.
- Name. What people see in the App Store, up to 30 characters. It can be different from the name under the icon on the phone.
- Primary Language. The language your app is written in.
- Bundle ID. Open the list and pick the one StoreReady shows you, like
com.yourname.myapp. StoreReady added it for you. - SKU. A code only you see. Copy the one StoreReady shows you, or type any word without spaces.
- User Access. Full Access.
4. Press Create
Apple opens your new app's page. Nothing else to fill in there now. StoreReady sends the description and screenshots before the first release.
Back in StoreReady, press I've created it. We look for the app with your key.
If something gets in the way
"The app name you entered is already being used." Every name in the App Store is unique. Add a word, like "Habit Loop Daily" or "Habit Loop App", and press Create again. You can change the name later, before you send a version to review.
The Bundle ID isn't in the list. Apple can take a minute to show a new one.
- Close the New App form and reload the page.
- Open + → New App again and look once more.
- Still missing? Check you're signed in to the right team. If your Apple ID belongs to more than one team, your name at the top right opens a menu to switch. The team must be the one your StoreReady key comes from.
- Still missing after that? Write to help@storeready.app with your app's name and we'll sort it out.
No + button, or New App is greyed out. Accept the agreement in the banner at the top. If there's no banner, your role is too low. The Account Holder, an Admin or an App Manager can create apps.
StoreReady says it can't find the app. Check the Bundle ID in the form is the exact one StoreReady showed, then press I've created it again.
Your app is already in the App Store?
Don't make a new one. Use the Bundle ID your app already has as its App ID in StoreReady. We find your app with your key, and every version we build goes out as an update to it, numbered above the version in the store.
Your Apple team needs one free place for a distribution certificate. Apple allows only a few, so if the account was used before, see Signing certificates and Apple's certificate limit.
