Send a build to TestFlight testers

Updated October 15, 2026

There are two ways to send an iOS build to your testers.

When you start the build

On the Builds tab press New build, tick iOS and tick the groups under Send to TestFlight testers. Write What changed?: testers see it in TestFlight as What to Test.

Apple processes a new build for 5 to 15 minutes. Then StoreReady sends it to the groups you picked, and the build's note says where it went.

Any build you already have

On the Testing tab, under Builds in TestFlight, press Send to testers next to the build. Pick the groups and write what to test. Tick Send new builds to these groups too if they should get every build from now on.

What happens next

  • Team groups have it right away.
  • Anyone groups get it once Apple's beta review approves it. StoreReady sends the build for that review for you. The first build of each version is reviewed, usually within a day. The build's note on the Builds tab says Waiting for Apple's beta review, then that it is with your testers.

Test information for Apple

Before Apple reviews a build for Anyone groups, it needs a few details, once per app. They are on the Testing tab under Test information:

  • What testers should know: what the app does and what you want tested. Apple's reviewer reads it too.
  • Feedback email: where feedback from TestFlight goes.
  • Who Apple can contact about the review: first name, last name, email and phone with the country code, like +1 415 555 0100.
  • Testers have to sign in: turn it on if your app starts with a sign-in screen, and give Apple a working demo account. Without one, the review stops at your sign-in screen.
  • Notes for the reviewer (optional).

It goes straight to App Store Connect. StoreReady keeps no copy, the demo password least of all. If something is missing when you send a build, the build's note says Apple needs your test information with a button to fill it in. Then send the build again.

If Apple does not approve it

The build's note says Apple did not approve it for external testers. Apple emails the reason to the Account Holder of your developer account. Paste it on the Store review tab and StoreReady plans the fix. Team groups keep the build in the meantime.

Good to know

  • TestFlight keeps a build for 90 days.
  • To put a version on the App Store, open it in App Store Connect, pick the build and press Add for Review.
